Washout at Gourock

May 13th 2012
The Pipe Band season got underway for both Williamwood bands as usual, at Gourock Highland Games, and like so many years before, the weather was less than ideal.

The Grade 2 band were drawn to play at 15.51pm but due to the bad weather, alot of bands pulled out beforehand. Both bands played through the weather and picked up prizes for their efforts.

The Grade 2 band placed 3rd and Grade 4 band were placed 1st - a great start to the season. The pipes and drums are now drying off ready for the next contest at Bathgate on Saturday May 26th.

Band Update - 7th August 2011
The band is looking forward to a very exciting future under the leadership of Pipe Major Ewan Henderson, formerly Pipe Sergeant with Strathclyde Police and Leading Drummer Bill Fraser. We have an excellent repertoire and a strong desire to progress in Grade 2, ensuring a positive, progressive and musical future.

Whilst playing members are healthy across both corps, we are actively looking to recruit new members with a desire to progress in Grade 2, contribute to our development and become part of an ambitious and progressive Grade 2 band. We are based in the south side of Glasgow, within very easy reach from the city centre, M8, M77, M74 and benefit from a fantastic practice venue.

Please get in touch to find out more. Ewan and Bill would be very happy to meet and discuss our plans for the future.
